The dual municipality of Bergholz-Rehbrücke is located on the southern edge of Potsdam and is the largest of six districts in the municipality of Nuthetal in the Brandenburg district of Potsdam-Mittelmark. As in many places, in the 19th century the original farming village developed into a country house colony in the neighbourhood of Potsdam and Berlin. Historic old buildings, embedded in the green surroundings, still bear witness to this today. Since the middle of the 20th century, a centre of nutritional science with various research facilities has also been established. The municipality also has a good infrastructure with various shopping facilities, restaurants, doctors' surgeries, nurseries, a primary school and various sports facilities. The transport links are also very good: you can reach Berlin city centre in just 30 minutes from Potsdam's main railway station or Rehbrücke station. The junction to the A 115 motorway also makes the village easily accessible for private transport.
